Denver’s Lohi community, or Lower Highlands, is one of the most popular in the city these days. It’s the community to be in if new and exciting local restaurants, rooftop patios, shopping, and unlimited things to do is your style.
It’s rapidly growing and for a good reason. The community is exceptionally walkable, and there are trendy restaurants and boutiques in the area. The homes in the area are diverse, including brand new construction homes to properties that are over 115 years old. The laid back and relaxed atmosphere is very attractive for people looking for a new home in Denver.
Multi-family homes start at $390,000 and can cost upwards of $1,800,000. Many multi-family developments in the Lower Highlands are new constructions and luxury. They have between one and three bedrooms and one to three bathrooms.
Single-family homes range from $460,000 to $2,000,000 and have between two and four bedrooms and one to three bathrooms.
The median listing price in Lohi is just over $775,000.
Between the new modern construction and the older Victorian homes that are available, Lohi has a mix of homes available for all tastes. The Highlands United Neighbors group has an active presence in the area. The Registered Neighborhood Organization also has a presence, and they work hard to give back to the community in the schools and events.
Three things are the focal points of what makes Lower Highlands so great, and that is the walkability, the views, and the energy of the community. It is the ultimate in urban living. It’s very close to downtown, and in fact, there is a pedestrian bridge for residents to walk into the core of Denver for work or play. Over the pedestrian bridge is the Union Station, making accessing public transit very convenient. There are also plenty of bike lanes.
Lohi is all about food and shopping. New local eateries are popping up all the time, and some of the trendiest foods around the world find themselves in the Lohi area. However, the nearest grocery store is a bit of a trek, a few miles away in Wheat Ridge. Parking in Lohi is a bit of a pain, and not easily accessible.
The nightlife is a big draw for a lot of people who choose Lohi. There is a lively rooftop patio scene in this part of the city.
Lohi is a popular, energetic, and vibrant community that is great for singles, young professionals, and families that are growing. It’s known as the ‘adult playground’ of the Denver area. For those who are looking for an energetic scene, always being able to find something to do, and have options for great housing, Lohi is an excellent place to start.
